Course Objectives 1. To cultivate brief knowledge on healthcare spaces and design
2. To inform about codes, design and application processes of healthcare spaces,
3. To cultivate a developped knowledge on diverse phases of Evidence Based Design approach, and articulating knowledge about research-based design processes and post-occupancy processes.
Course Description Spatial transformation of healthcare spaces; spatial atmosphere in indoor and outdoor healing environments; healing environments in cityscape and landscape; building codes about healthcare spaces; program requirements and space organization of healthcare spaces; emergency rooms, polyclinics, operation rooms, patient rooms and dental clinics design; Evidence Based Design;attaining the relevant evidence; observ techniques; tools of analysis; post occupancy evaluation; comparative assessments of design outputs.
Course Outcomes I. Knowledge about healthcare spaces and design,
II. Knowledge about principles (codes, program, spatial organization) design and application processes of healthcare spaces,
III. Knowledge about diverse phases of Evidence Based Design approach,
IV. Knowledge about diverse methods of attaning the relevent evidence,
V. Ability of research and examination of existing references in design processes,
VI. Ability of assessment about the post occupancy evaluations,
VII. Ability of comparative reading of the POE results
