Course Objectives Understanding the historical background of Afro-Eurasian civilizations
Examining the relationship between cultures and their architectures within a historical context
Classifying different construction techniques and technologies in the early modern world (from the 15th to the 18th century)
Questioning the development of interior spaces within a cultural context
Course Description The course History and Theory of Interior Architecture II aims to critically examine the developments in space, culture, and daily life in the Afro-Eurasian world from the 13th to the 18th century (early modern period). One of the primary objectives of this course is to trace cultural encounters and exchanges during this period of increasing integration among societies and to discuss the background and formal characteristics of spatial practices. Within this framework, the course will analyze European and Turkish-Islamic architectures from a comparative perspective within specific thematic frameworks
Course Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will acquire the following knowledge, skills, and competencies:

Knowledge of the role of geographical, historical, socio-cultural, ideological, political, economic, and religious variables in shaping space,
The ability to evaluate selected examples of spaces from different civilizations/periods throughout history within the context of interior architectural components,
The skill to critically question the intellectual background that shapes architectural and interior architectural environments/theories,
The ability to conduct research and deliver presentations on relevant topics
