Course Objectives 1. Understanding housing problem as complex and multi-dimensional study area because of population growth and migration, social changes, developments in architectural approaches, technology in global and local scale,
2. Examining various aspects of housing and environmental quality.
Course Description Impacts of socio-economical, spatial and technological changes on planning and design of housing and the use of space, New housing types and design problems (gated communities, small dwellings, mixed use examples, etc.), Transformation of unplanned housing areas.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. Having a comprehensive knowledge about housing as a design problem,
2. Understanding the dynamics affecting housing phenomenon,
3. Learning about the concept of housing quality and quality characteristics,
4. Improving critical thinking about housing problem, design process and practice.
