GEO 308 - Real Estate Valuation

Course Objectives

In this course, real estate property and valuation concepts are aimed to explain for students to get ability to identify appropriate methods that can be used in the various real property valuations related to the legislation on the land valuation, map production of land valuation, compare the real estate valuation techniques.

Course Description

The main topics of this course are; real estate, the concept of land ownership, the importance of the property valuation in community life, an overview of the Turkish tax system, the historical background of the legislation relating to land assessment in Turkey. Examination of real estate appraisal criteria, the real estate valuation methods; A comparison of methods, evaluation standards, values and production of base maps for tax purposes.
