Course Objectives 1) Teaching project delivery systems,
2) Informing about construction management concept from the owners’ and contractors’ perspectives,
3) Giving general information about management issues encountered during construction projects.
Course Description Project delivery systems, construction management concept from owners’ perspective, project management organization, design and construction processes, utilization of labor, material and equipment, cost estimation, bidding and contract administration, construction planning, scheduling techniques, cost monitoring, control and accounting, economic evaluation of facility investments, quality control and safety applications during construction, project information systems.
Course Outcomes M.Sc. students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge, skill and competency in the following subjects;
1) Project delivery systems used in the construction industry,
2) Similarities and differences between construction management concepts from the owners’ and contractors’ perspectives,
3) Management organizations in construction projects,
4) Management activities that should be carried out during construction projects.
