Week Topic
1 1 Introduction of the course with its content, Brief review of application areas of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, Accuracy measures used in Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering.
2 Review of direction, distance and height difference measurement methods, Horizontal and Vertical setting outs methods.
3 Setting outs of various engineering constructions (e.g. bridge, viaduct, etc), Geodetic measurement in tunnel constructions and setting out of tunnels.
4 Design and setting outs of road and railway, Setting out of embankment. Numerical exercises.
5 Setting outs of pipelines (e.g. water, gas, etc.), Setting out of Energy Transferring Lines.
6 Height measurements in the structure, Control and setting out measurement of floor slab plan. Numerical exercises.
7 Control and setting out measurement of crane, Setting out of horizontal plane. Control and setting out of vertical direction/plane, high tower and industrial chimney. Numerical exercises.
8 HOMEWORK
9 General required accuracies in various setting outs and control measurements, Calculation of estimated accuracy of setting outs with error propagation law.
10 Planning and Management of Map Projects, Using of Operational Research Methods in Map Projects. Planning and Performing of Large Scale Map Production under light of the new “Regulation of Large Scale Map and Map Data Production”
11 Midterm Exam.
12 Determination of object deformation such as steel caldron, ship’s propeller, etc. with Digital Object Model and interpretation of results, Concept of Deformation, Monitoring and determination of deformation, Tilt measurement of building with sensor.
13 Orientation of a structure to specific direction (e.g. Qibla determination), Way finding methods in nature.
14 High accuracy bathymetric measurements and setting outs in harbor and inshore.
