Course Objectives 1. To teach about basic concepts of management and organisation.
2. To teach about tasks, authority and responsibility in maritime organizations based on personal and leadership.
3. To gain knowledge on assessment of maritime organisations and to give an ability about the viewpoint of management.
Course Description Basic concepts of management. Organisation and types of organisation. Organisations in ship and in maritime. Individuality and types of personality. Perception, attribution and learning. Job satisfaction, organisational commitment and motivation. Group, formation of group, working within different groups and team work. Leadership and its approaches. Organization change and development. Stress and stress management. Social responsibility and ethics.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to;
I. Learn about management and organization.
II. Learn his/her tasks, authority and responsibility in maritime organisations.
III. Learn about effective ship organisation, organisational culture and their management.
IV. Learn about solving conflicts in the environment and ship organisation with his/her skill of leadership.
V. Learn about management of stress and conflicts.
Pre-requisite(s)
Required Facilities Performing a presentation related to the subject within the course topics has an application in the maritime.
