Course Objectives

• to interpret the concept of culture through music
• to re-read the topics of historical musicology through the concepts of culture, time, place, creation and performance.
• to re-read world music cultures through the concepts of culture, time, place, creation and performance.
• To appreciate historical musicologists’, ethnomusicologists’ and composers’ ideas about creation and improve a critical approach.
