Course Objectives This course aims:
1. To investigate the concept of shopping and shopping spaces.
2. To reflect commercial identiy and branding values to interior space design.
3. To develop a store interior space set up that supports sales and to design shopfront.
4. To use elements that builds up interior space atmosphere effectively.
Course Description The concept of shopping, the change in shopping areas and typologies in historical process, the commercial aspect of design: design of brand, identity, image, facade, interface; set up of interior space; arrangement of sales ares, exhibition methods and elements; interior space atmsophere: light, colour, pattern, material, sound; principles and techniques of lighting; change and sustainability
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills and competencies;
I. Knowledge on shopping and store typologies
II. Knowledge on concepts in store design such as sustainability and change
III. Ability to evaluate brand value as a design criteria
IV. Ability to construct interior spaces intended for commercial goals
V. Knowhow, ability, and competancy in actively using elements forming atmospheres in interior space
